Attempt at 30 days successively doing yoga in 2010
Feb 7
Peace and calm. Yoga classes this week.
Feb 8
Wow. Yoga never required so much H2O! I feel cleansed.
Feb 9,10
I completed 3 successive days of "hot" yoga yesterday. All I can think about is H2O and preventing heartburn caused by inverted poses. Going for 30 successive days of yoga... why? Because it's there.
Feb 11
Four days and counting. Daily yoga is getting better
Feb 12
5th day of yoga and I didn't die. It helped that only 3 people joined the class today.
Feb 14
Day 7: Yoga again. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can....
Feb 15
I have completed day 8 of my yoga marathon. I think I'm actually seeing improvement in my strength. Whew! It's not all for naught.
Feb 16
Ho! Ho! I did not miss day 9 of the yoga marathon! It was a bit delayed with a trip to Dr. with Mom, however. I used my favorite yoga CD for a long series of stretches and then meditated with a body scan for 20 minutes. Bliss....
Feb 17
Back at CorePower Yoga for my 10th day. Hey, someday I might be able to balance on one foot a couple inches off of the ground. If nothing else comes out of all this effort, I have had a really great week or so of sound sleep. 60 minutes of yoga also doesn't seem as long as it did last week.
Feb 18
Day 11! Yoga Sculpt class tonight. This is a class in a hot room with weights added to the upper body moves. Surprisingly fun after getting used to yoga in a warm room. It felt sinful using weights barefoot to the music of "Ludicrous.”
Feb 19
I'm off to a less intense form of yoga today (#12). Hatha/Yin. I think it's the old fashioned yoga with a bit of meditation mixed in... I'll find out soon.
Feb 20
1/2 hr to get my yoga in today. I'm going for it.
Feb 25
OK, I want to get back to CorePower Yoga tomorrow. I did my 20 minutes at home again and I think I've "healed" enough to really exert myself more. The really great thing about trying to get the most out of my yoga is that I'm beginning to cease moving like an "old lady". My calves and joints are really becoming young a...gain. My shoulders "supple.”
Feb 27
Yoga Day 22: National Holiday? I'm worried about myself. Breathing the "now". Actually able to Down Dog over and over and over again. The same day I got my 88 yr. old Mom pretty tipsy on a Black Russian and French fries. Family is the best.
Mar 3
"Uncle"! OK, what with Mom's tooth getting pulled out
and feeding her antibiotics I got into the brandy. No yoga tonight.
The streak is broken. Next goal: alternate swimming laps with yoga?
